A study of the world of sports from a business perspective. Selected topics include major team sports franchising, ownership, player relations, salary arbitration, taxation, and venue management; lifetime sports development, and consumer orientation; stadia issues; development, promotion, marketing and management of major and minor events ranging from the Olympic Games to the Columbus Marathon; the production and merchandising of athletic equipment, clothing, and other sporting goods.
