NEUR 250 - Introduction to Neuroscience An introduction to the study of neuroscience through the Molecular & Cellular, Behavioral & Cognitive, and Computational sub-fields. Fundamental principles of neuronal electrochemical properties, neuronal communication, and brain structure will be explored to allow discussion of larger themes such as Memory & Cognition, Biological Rhythms & Sleep, and Neurobehavioral Disorders. This course exposes students to the unique but complementary research methods that each subfield uses in addressing questions in neuroscience. Lecture and laboratory (fused lecture/lab format where laboratory exercises are interspersed with lecture material). Prerequisites: 2 of the following 3 courses: BIOL 120 , PSYC 110 , or CHEM 110 ; or by permission of the instructor.
