PSYC 326 - Public Health: Psychological, Behavioral, and Social Issues


This course is designed to introduce students to the basic tenets, applications, and research methods in public health, with a focus on relevant psychological, behavioral, and social issues in the field. The course will provide a historical perspective on the contributions and role of public health, and will survey the relevant core disciplines such as epidemiology, health behavior and promotion, maternal and child health, and health care systems. Discussion of current events, issues, and emerging challenges in the field will be incorporated throughout the course. Prerequisites: C- or better in PSYC 110  and sophomore, junior, or senior standing. Spring Group I
