This course will teach the early history of electronic music, analog synthesis and instruments, digital synthesis and computer music, and electronic music repertoire. The student will also learn how to operate a digital audio editor using Audacity, and the student will create a simple synthesizer using Pure Data Extended (Pdextended), a real-time graphical programming environment for audio, video, and graphical processing, and the MaKey MaKey, a simple pre-programmed Arduino board.
