PSYC 255 - Clinical Neuroscience


This course explores the neurobiology underlying the symptoms of and treatments for neurological and mental illnesses through engaging with primary and secondary scientific material. Students learn the basics of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neuropharmacology. The course surveys the effectiveness of current treatments and some of the many remaining questions in Clinical Neuroscience. The value of using animal models to understand and develop new therapies for neurological and mental illnesses will be discussed. Normally, students would not take this course and PSYC 343. Prerequisite: C- or better in PSYC 110. Prerequisite: C- or better in PSYC 110 . Fall Group I
