ESL Advanced Reading is a course for advanced non-native English speaking (NNES) students to develop skill in reading English for academic purposes, to increase reading speed and comprehension, and to expand sub-technical academic vocabulary in preparation for taking university-level courses. Students practices reading and analyzing a variety of text types across disciplines. Pre-reading activities, class and group discussions of reading passages, and vocabulary exercises are designed bo give students intensive practice in both basic comprehension and critical reading. Outside assignments provide extensive reading pracice with both academic and non-academic texts.

Does not count toward graduation requirements.
