ESL Advanced Spoken Communication Skills prepared advanced non-native English speaking (NNES) students to participate successfully in the oral and aural demands of university academic courses. Activities to help students gain fluency and confidence in speaking and to develop listening and note-taking strategies. Attention is also given to appropriate spoken sentence structure, understandable pronunciation, and vocabulary expansion. Class activities include recorded conversations and short lectures, small group discussion, pair work, vocabulary practice, and individual and group oral presentations. Does not count toward graduation requirements.
