EAP 110 - Academic Success in Spoken Communication 1.00
This course prepares non-native English speaking (NNES) students to deal successfully with the listening, speaking, and classroom participation skills and the related ESL language and cultural issues particularly relevant to their success in a U.S. university. Students practice comprehension of academic lectures, make individual and group presentations, participate in and lead classroom discussions, and collaborate in small group conferences and one-on-one conversations. Attention is paid to pronunciation, spoken emphasis, syntax, lexicon, and fluency as components of effective speaking skills.
