This course will teach the early history of electronic music, analog synthesis and instruments, digital synthesis and computer music, and electronic music repertoire. The student will also learn how to operate a digital audio workstation using Pro Tools, and the student will create a simple synthesizer using Max/MSP, a real-time graphical programming environment for audio, video, and graphical processing.
