PSYC 343 - Behavioral Neuroscience


This course provides an introduction to the neural processes underlying behavior, sensory functions, and internal regulation. It is focused on exploring the neurobiological mechanisms of basic functions such as touch, hearing, taste, smell, vision, movement, hunger, thirst, sexual behaviors, sleep, and emotions. Students will learn about techniques used for behavioral neuroscience research through reading primary literature. An optional laboratory (PSYC 343L) is available to gain hands-on experience.  Prerequisites: C- or better in PSYC 110 or NEUR 110 and sophomore, junior, or senior standing. Group I
