DATA 300 2 - Data Visualization and Presentation

1.0

In today’s world, we search for truth and understanding in very large and complex data that resists simple explanation. This course exposes students to the art and science of reducing the information in this high-dimensional data to just two or three dimensions, while revealing the salient and informative characteristics of the data. Students will be introduced to management of complex data and its presentation using a variety of graphical tools. Through case study, students will obtain an understanding of fundamental principles which underpin high quality representation and visualization of data. Prerequisites: DATA 110, CS 110, and (MATH 105, MATH 230, MATH 200 3 or PSYC 210). Fall
