ECON 276 - Health Economics

This course covers the three primary determinants of health (healthcare, behavior, and exposure) from an economics perspective to explain health outcomes and disparities and consider how they can be improved. Among the topics covered are adverse selection, moral hazard, the theory of rational addiction, the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), air pollution and lung disease, and soft drink taxes and obesity. Prerequisite: C- or better in Econ 110.
