This course focuses on how adolescents learn and develop in their use of language and in their ability to comprehend and express ideas using a wide range of texts including print and non-print media. Special topics include teaching literature, language structure and variation, and composition. Attention is given to issues of communication and multiple ways of assessment. Prerequisite: C- or higher in EDUC 251 and admission to the Teacher Education Program.
