Introductory courses emphasizing four basic skills: aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing with consideration of the cultural and historic background of the areas where the language is spoken. Readings are designed to introduce students to Italian culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and comprehend with some facility and to read various kinds of texts.
