ENG 100 6 - Narratives: Film and Television (0.5 units)
In this course, we will seek answers to these questions: How does the film or televisual narrative – especially narrative cinema – pattern meanings? How does the film or televisual narrative differ from other means of representing human experience? What is distinctive about visual narrative form, with its use of sound and moving image, as opposed to other forms of storytelling, such as print literature, radio, podcast, and the theater? Our comparative thematic focus will be representations of American families, as intersectionally analyzed across different American identity categories.
