Intercultural communication principles guide the process of exchanging meaningful and unambiguous information across cultural boundaries in a way that preserves mutual respect and minimizes antagonism. This course introduces students to the concept and study of intercultural communication and explores issues related to intercultural communication praxis. In this course, students develop a greater understanding of the challenges and complexities of intercultural communication in the global context and explore communication as a shared system of symbols, beliefs, attitudes, values, expectations, and norms of behavior.
