In French 200 1 students build on what they have learned in French 111 and 230 while engaging with the themes of voyage and discovery both in theory and in practice. Through sustained engagement with language, textual, and cinematic sources from the francophone world, they work towards honing their critical thinking, reading, writing, speaking, presentational, and cultural analysis skills in French. This class functions as a “bridge course” between the introductory, more linguistically oriented courses and the advanced cultural seminars they will encounter at the 300 and 400 levels. Prerequisite: FREN 111 or placement test. Spring.
