BUS 260 - Social Entrepreneurship

Are you interested in contributing to the greater good through the career you choose? Do you want to “do good” for others without sacrificing your own economic well-being? Well, now you can. In this course, you will learn about the growing phenomenon known as social entrepreneurship. You will learn the theories behind social entrepreneurship and the various forms of organizational and governance structure that you can pursue. You will immerse yourself in the local economy of mission-driven startups in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. You will work collaboratively in teams to complete a design challenge stemming from a “wicked” social challenge facing the world today, while following a model known as participatory research. Prereq: ENG 105.
