ENVS 380 - Sustainable Digital Agriculture

(1.25 units)

“Digital agriculture (DA) is an agricultural system that is progressively changing agriculture in the United States and around the world. DA is bringing an information revolution in agriculture based on new technologies. Spatial and temporal optimization of inputs and management practices can be used to increase farm productivity, profitability, sustainability, environmental protection, food safety, and quality of life. PA applies to most agricultural systems and technological management levels. Precision agriculture is data intensive and you will learn basic agro-informatics through hands-on experiences and computer exercises. This course will involve background knowledge and technologies from multi-disciplines, which will facilitate multi-disciplinary integration and innovation. The class will include both lectures and activities such as case studies, group discussion and presentation, problem solving, and hands-on exercises.”
