ECON 378 Public Finance
The study of how and why the government may intervene in the economy. This course will examine the pros and cons of a wide variety of tax systems, will consider the tradeoffs created by government subsidization and provisioning of goods and services, and will pay particular attention to current policy debates. Satisfies the advanced economics course requirement for the major in Economics, and satisfies an elective requirement for majors in Management Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Economics.
