This course is designed to introduce East Asia to students. The first part of this course covers the history, politics, economy, and society of China, Japan, and Korea, the three most important countries in East Asia. The second part examines the history and politics of East Asian regionalism with a specific focus on ASEAN + 3 and various foreign policy issues including the role of the U.S. in the region. This course is open to any students who are interested in East Asia and there are no prerequisites for taking it.
