SOAN 242 Identity, Self, and Society
This course asks how cultural and social forces shape how identity is formed. This course will use the major ideas about the self from the fields of anthropology and sociology to help us understand human behavior. This course will examine case studies from across the world and domestically. A wide range of materials will be used from social media, ethnographic and documentary film, scholarly articles, journalism, art, literature, and popular media.
