BUS 307 E LEAN Management




LEAN management systems are utilized worldwide to both strategically direct organizations and provide an integrated work structure throughout the organization to achieve common goals. LEAN can be thought of as the continuous improvement of work and management processes to eliminate all forms of wastes in an organization while providing real value to customers and the public in general. Students undertaking this course will learn the history of LEAN and many of its guiding principles and actual practices which become the building blocks for creating a LEAN enterprise. This course will assist students in understanding what is meant by LEAN transformation (the abandoning of many traditional management practices), the fundamentals of beginning a LEAN journey, and the paramount importance of people in the workplace.
