This laboratory course utilizes the techniques introduced in CHEM 262 and applies them to the synthesis of organic molecules and the determination of reaction mechanisms. An emphasis on structure elucidation for the characterization of reaction products using infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies, gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
