WLC 260 Hispanic and Latine Voices in U.S. Culture, Literature, and Film




This course will be taught in English and is open to students at all levels and from any major/discipline. The exact course content may vary depending on the instructor and the term in which the course is offered, but all students will be introduced to cultural productions by Hispanic, Chicano/a and Latine artists, writers, and scholars. Authentic literary, filmic and other cultural/artistic expressions will be used to explore topics such as identity formation in terms of language, race, gender, sexuality, and class; issues related to immigration and the border; activism and art; media representation and Latine pop culture.

This course may be counted toward the Spanish major/minor and be taken as an elective for Film Studies and Latin American Studies.
