ENVS 380 Sustainable Digital Agriculture
Digital Agriculture is a system that is progressively changing agriculture in the United States and around the world as it brings an information revolution in agriculture based on new technologies. Spatial and temporal optimization of inputs and management practices can be used to increase farm productivity, profitability, sustainability, environmental protection, food safety, and quality of life. Applicable to most agricultural systems and technological management levels, Digital Agriculture is data intensive and you will learn basic agro-informatics through hands-on experiences and computer exercises. This course will involve background knowledge and technologies from various disciplines to facilitate multi-disciplinary integration and innovation. The class will include both lectures and activities such as case studies, group discussion and presentation, problem solving, and hands-on exercises.
