Coaching Minor

The HHK department also offers a coaching and an exercise science minor for the student with a major in another department.

Additionally, the HHK department co-administers a food studies mentored minor, in collaboration with the environmental studies program. Details for completion of this interdisciplinary minor are included below. Unlike the coaching minor or the exercise science minor, HHK and Nutrition majors can complete the food studies mentored minor.

HHK minors in coaching or exercise science must be certified in First Aid and Adult and Pediatric CPR through an approved organization before they complete HHK 260 , and students must maintain certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid through graduation. Students may not minor in HHK if HHK has already been selected as the major.

* HHK Coaching minors must be certified in First Aid and Adult and Pediatric CPR through an approved organization before they complete HHK 260 , and students must maintain certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid through graduation. Several American Red Cross classes are offered on campus each year. Recertification opportunities are also offered on a regular basis.
