Major Requirements

The B.A. in Music major consists of 12 units:

• Two units of applied lessons in a principal applied area (200-level course each semester of residence)

• Two units of a large ensemble, determined by area of applied study

• Music Theory and Aural Skills: MUS 155 , MUS 156 , MUS 165 , MUS 166 , MUS 255 , MUS 265 ,
• Music History: MUS 109 ,  MUS 357 , MUS 358  
• One course chosen from MUS 347 , MUS 348 , and MUS 349 ;
• MUS 116  (Class Piano I)
• One elective unit, which may be in academic or applied music courses

Students must also meet the recital attendance and performance requirements as described in the Music Student Handbook.
