A historical description and analysis of economic development in the Western world from A.D. 950 to the mid-20th century. Topics include manorialism, early urban market economies, the Age of Ambition, mercantilism, Agricultural Revolution, industrialization, classical economics, free trade and varieties of colonialism, socialism, neo-imperialism, rise of welfare state, governmental growth, and dependency theory.
