MUS 156 - Music Theory II
(.50 unit)
Continuation of basic theory sequence, covering both theory and aural skills. Theory: the dominant seventh and its inversions; all other diatonic triads and seventh chords; cadences; harmonic rhythm; harmonic sequences; secondary dominants. Aural skills: sight singing and dictation of melodies with larger intervals; alto and tenor clefs; basic chromaticism; longer harmonic dictation, including applied chords. Prerequisite: minimum grade of C- in MUS 155 .
