PG 364 - International Political Economy This course is an upper-level course on International Political Economy (IPE), one of the significant subfields in the study of International Relations (IR). We explore the inevitable tensions and interactions between politics (the state) and the economy (the market) in the context of the study of IR. Among the specific issues to be addressed are the history and major theoretical perspectives of IPE; the politics of international trade and finance; the political outcomes of economic globalization; and the origins and prospects of regionalism.
