Introduction to the fundamental concepts of plant physiology, including plant cell biology, morphogenesis, plant-water relations, mineral nutrition and metabolism; plant tissue culture; molecular mechanisms of plant response to environment; plant genetic engineering. The laboratory includes techniques useful in assessing plant growth and development with emphasis on the process of scientific investigation. Lecture and laboratory.
