EDUC 312 - Elementary Science and Social Studies Methods 1.00
This course will emphasize the development of lesson and unit planning for teaching science and social studies in elementary school settings prekindergarten through grade 5. Topics include: effective teaching strategies for each content area, interdisciplinary instruction, differentiated instruction, backward design, and culturally responsive instruction. Lesson planning will utilize an “assess-plan-teach-reflect” cycle.
There is a 50-hour field experience candidates will complete during the same semester as this course. Admission to the Teacher Education Program; B- or better in EDUC 311 . Concurrent enrollment in EDUC 314 . Fall
