FREN 110 Beginning French I




This is the first part of an introductory language and culture course emphasizing five basic skills related to the French-speaking world: aural comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, and cultural comprehension. Upon completion of FREN 110, students should be able to speak and comprehend simple sentences in French with some facility, demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of important cultural aspects of the global French-speaking world, read and understand simple texts in French, and write in simple sentence structures. This course is highly interactive, and students hone their ability to work in groups, navigate uncertainty, and develop communication and presentation skills.
