This course, the third semester of a three-semester sequence introducing the Spanish language, emphasizes the four basic skills: listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will also be exposed to the diversity of the Spanish-speaking world, for example through readings that introduce them to Spanish and Latin American cultures and literatures. The aim is to prepare students to speak, write, and comprehend with some facility and to read texts of moderate difficulty. Emphasis is on class participation and active use of the language.
