Learning Objectives
Students will: Demonstrate a general understanding of the levels of biological organization from the molecular to systems level. Develop a strong factual foundation and a deeper understanding in a range of subjects in the biological sciences through advanced coursework. Apply the scientific method including making careful observations, asking questions, generating hypotheses, designing and conducting sound, well-controlled experiments, and analyzing and interpreting results, including the use of appropriate statistics. Demonstrate the ability to find, read, and critically evaluate scientific information including primary literature. Communicate topics in the biological sciences effectively. Major Requirements Any two from the following biology classes: Two additional courses in BIOL, CHEM, MATH, PHYS, or NEUR. CHEM 260 and CHEM 261 are highly recommended. Notes
The Genetics major may not be combined with any other major or minor offered in the Biological Sciences. |
