This course will emphasize the connections between mathematics, science and social studies appropriate for self-contained elementary classrooms as well as disciplinary-specific classrooms. Topics to be addressed: effective teaching strategies for each content area, interdisciplinary instruction, differentiated instruction, assessment as a guide to instruction, technology as an instructional tool, and reflection as a means of professional growth. EDUC 339 taken concurrently, or with permission. Prerequisite: EDUC 323 and admission to the teacher education program.
