NUTR 100 2 - Introduction to Food and Nutrition 1.00
This course will provide students with a foundational understanding of foods and nutritional components that support health. Key content areas will include nutrient characteristics, requirements, and food sources; energy balance; weight control; dietary guides and food planning; and social and economic factors that affect food production and consumption. A key aspect of this course will be an emphasis not only on reductionist discussions about nutrients but also discussions about food and the environment in which we consume it. F, S
