WGS 351 - Global Feminisms This interdisciplinary course examines women’s grassroots movements from around the world and explores global debates regarding women’s rights. It specifically focuses on feminist perspectives concerning globalization, multiculturalism and the current importance placed on women’s rights by international policy makers. Course readings address contemporary and global women’s rights issues including violence against women, female genital cutting, religious identity and expression, trafficking of women, women in conflict zones, and gendered transnational labor.
