1.00

This course will review the scientific literature regarding the various environmental systems that are affected by anthropogenic climate change (e.g., glaciers) and will address how humans are coping with such changes at varying spatial scales. We will primarily utilize scientific literature presented by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The course is designed as a seminar and will heavily rely on individual contributions through discussion leading and learning. Additionally, each student will be responsible for presenting an issue of significance related to climate change. This semester-long project will include components that will guide the student through the acquisition of data and information through the presentation stages and will include the following: a proposal, a sample of writing, an outline, a rough draft, a meeting, an oral presentation, and a final written draft of their work. Writing course.  No prerequisites. Spring (Alternate Years; Offered 2019-20) (Group I)
