		Learning Objectives
 Consistent with the Departmental Mission and Goals, we expect that students who graduate with a major in Zoology will: Demonstrate a general understanding of the levels of biological organization from the molecular to systems level. Develop a deeper understanding in a range of subjects in the biological sciences through advanced coursework. Apply the scientific method including making careful observations, asking questions, generating hypotheses, designing and conducting experiments, and analyzing and interpreting results (which includes the appropriate use of statistics). Demonstrate the ability to find, read, and critically evaluate scientific information including primary literature. Communicate topics in Zoology effectively. Major Requirements
 Core requirements:      or      Biology Courses
 Four animal-focused biology courses (two from each of the following two groups) (a) Organismal Diversity, Behavior and Ecology
 (b) Physiology, Cellular and Molecular Biology
 Additional requirements:
  - One Biology class above 122
  - 2 additional full unit courses from BIOL, CHEM, MATH, PHYS, NEUR, or ENVS 111, 112, 270, 275 or GEOG 112, 235, 245, 291/292/293, 347, 369, 375.
   Note(s):
 Also recommended are MATH 105 , MATH 235 , MATH 230 , or PSYC 210 . The Zoology major may not be combined with any other major or minor offered in the Biological Sciences. |
