|
The contents of the Employee Handbook are presented as a matter of information. While this Handbook is not intended to be a book of rules and regulations covering all aspects of your employment, it does include some important guidelines that you should know. Except for the at-will employment provisions, the Handbook can be amended at any time. The Handbook, the plans, policies, and procedures described herein, and the language used herein are not intended to create, nor are they to be construed to constitute, a contract between the University and any or all of its employees. Likewise, neither is this Employee Handbook, the plans, policies, and procedures described herein, nor the language used herein intended to be or is, a guarantee or promise of employment or continuing employment.
Employees are not hired for any definite or specified period of time, even though your wages are paid regularly. Your employment with the University is at-will, which means that it can be terminated by the University or you at any time, with or without cause or prior notice. University policy requires all employees to be hired at-will and this policy cannot be changed except by a written document signed by you and an Officer of the University. There have been no implied or verbal agreements or promises to you that you will be discharged only under certain circumstances or after certain procedures are followed. There is no implied employment contract created by this Handbook or any other University document or written or verbal statement or policy.
Employees classified as Faculty should consult the current Faculty Handbook for applicable information regarding terms of employment and classification.
